Cambodia has attended the Senior Officials' Meeting on the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Area in the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The meeting took place in Attapeu province on Feb. 29, with the co-chairmanship of the three CLV senior counterparts, and the Cambodian delegation was led by H.E. Pen Sovicheat, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce. In the meeting, the three parties appreciated cooperation progress and discussed the outcome of the meetings of the four sub-committees on economy, security and foreign affairs, society and environment, and provincial coordination. The meeting also examined and decided on the agenda of higher-level meetings, including the 13th Meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee on the CLV Development Triangle Area. The meeting is one of the mechanisms of the framework for development triangle cooperation of the tree countries established in 1999 to promote peace and social economic development widely along border province areas of the thre e countries. The CLV area includes Cambodia's four provinces (Stung Treng, Rattanakiri, Mondulkiri, and Kratie), Laos' four provinces (Attapeu, Sekong, Salavan, and Champasak), and Vietnam's five provinces (Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Nong, and Binh Phuoc).
