Australia Commends Cambodia-Thailand Peace Agreement


Kuala lumpur: Australia has expressed approval for the recent signing of the Joint Declaration on Peace Deal between Cambodia and Thailand. Senator the Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia, highlighted the significance of this development and urged both nations to implement the agreement fully and effectively.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Australian Foreign Minister also extended gratitude towards Prime Minister Anwar, serving as ASEAN Chair, and President Trump for their roles in facilitating the peace agreement. This historic deal was formalized by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of Thailand.



The signing ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, and H.E. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and Chair of the 2025 ASEAN Summits. The event took place on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
