Cambodia and China have discussed measures to attract more Chinese tourists to Cambodia and further promote the tourism industry between the two countries. The discussion took place in Siem Reap province on Sept. 19 in a Cambodia-China Tourism Forum 2024 themed "Promotion of China Tourism Market to Cambodia: Challenges, Visions, and Recommendations.". Senior representatives from Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism, Siem Reap provincial administration, and the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia joined the discussion. H.E. Prak Phannara, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism, underlined the significance of the forum to boost the tourism sector between Cambodia and China. The event reflected high attention of the two governments as well as the good cooperation between the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism, the Chinese Embassy, and China's municipal and provincial administrations in promoting the two nations' culture, tradition, and tourism potentials, said the secretary of state. Mr. Chen Cong, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, looked forward to encouraging more Chinese tourists to visit Cambodia and Chinese airlines to expand direct flights between Cambodia and China.
