Cambodia this afternoon won two gold medals at the Asian Kickboxing Championships being hosted by the Kingdom from Oct. 8 to 13. Chhong Visal defeating his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Si Thang to get the first gold medal for Cambodia in 51kg category, while the other gold medal was grabbed by Kham Klaneang after beating his counterpart from Kazakhstan in K1 51kg event. Some 700 athletes, including 200 women, from 24 countries have been joining the Asian Kickboxing Championships 2024 held at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh. In his opening speech, H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, stressed that this sporting event provides a good opportunity for participating athletes to exchange techniques and experiences. According to Mr. Heng Sokkhorn, President of the Cambodia Kickboxing Federation, the Championships consists of 102 events, of which 39 for women and 63 for men. Source : Agence Kampuchea Presse
