APSARA National Authority Urges Tourists to Exercise Caution Amid Adverse Weather

Siem reap: The APSARA National Authority has called on tourists to remain highly vigilant when travelling or visiting temples within the Angkor Archaeological Park due to current weather conditions. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the authority appealed to both national and international tourists, tour operators, and the general public to exercise caution. Drivers of all types of vehicles were also advised not to park or take shelter under trees, in order to avoid risks of injury, property damage, or loss of life. The APSARA National Authority cited a weather forecast from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM), which warned of strong winds bringing heavy rain, thunder, lightning, and gusts that may cause ground erosion and falling trees or branches in parts of the Angkor site. According to MOWRAM, although three typhoons-Ragasa, Neoguri, and Bualoi-are not expected to seriously affect Cambodia, between 70 and 80 percent of the country will experience rainfall, accompanied by thunde r, lightning, and gusts, from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2.
