Angkor Resort Welcomes Over 560,000 Tourists in First Six Months

Siem reap: Angkor Archaeological Park in Siem Reap province welcomed 567,673 foreign tourists in the first six months of this year, earning more than US$26 million.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the figures were shared by Angkor Enterprise, the state-owned institution in charge of Angkor's income management, in its latest press release. Both the number of foreign visitors and the income show an increase of about 8 percent compared to the same period last year.

Of the income, more than US$1,135,346 was donated to the Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation to support the humanitarian activities of Kantha Bopha Children's Hospitals. In June alone, the Angkor entrance tickets were sold to 40,096 foreign tourists, generating over US$1.7 million as income.
