KOTA BHARU, Four roads in Machang will be temporarily closed to traffic for a week starting Sunday. The Public Works Department (JKR) said the road closures will begin at 7 pm on April 7 until midnight on April 14, aiming to facilitate the annual Aidilfitri 'balik kampung' exodus. "The roads involved are the Tanah Merah to Paloh Rawa route, which will be closed in both directions. Users can use the alternative route namely Tanah Merah-Kg Wakaf Bata-Kelaweh-Paloh Rawa. "Others are Machang to Paloh Rawa, Kota Bharu to Tanah Merah, and the intersection of Jalan Tok Bok to Kota Bharu and Machang to Jalan Tok Bok," it said in a statement today.
