Phnom Penh: Visiting H.E. Dr. Mohammed Said Al-Majdouie, Assistant to the Secretary General for International Relations and Communication of the Muslim World League, praised Cambodia as a model nation for ensuring racial and religious harmony during a recent visit to the country. His comments were made during a courtesy call on Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel and Residence. This meeting took place ahead of the inaugural Islamic Summit in Cambodia, organized by the Muslim World League under the theme 'Islam and Buddhism'.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Said Al-Majdouie expressed gratitude towards Cambodia for its warm hospitality and commended the nation's rapid advancements in various sectors, particularly in the economy and education, which have garnered international attention.
In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted Cambodia's commitment to respecting and valuing diverse religious beliefs. He reaffirmed the government's dedication to ensuring harmonious coexistence among different religions within Cambodian society. The Prime Minister emphasized the significant role of religion in educating citizens to foster a society characterized by peace, stability, and development, devoid of conflicts.
Prime Minister Hun Manet further noted the increasing importance of religion in the digital age for promoting citizen education. In Cambodia, religious teachings have significantly contributed to imparting knowledge about human values, morality, and virtue, thereby aiding in the development of responsible citizens for the nation.
