KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) joined the nation in ushering in the 2024 National Day celebrations tonight with its Ambang 31@Bernama event held at Wisma Bernama here. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching attended the event, where guests were entertained by a sape performance by Alena Murang, patriotic songs by Badan Kesenian Tentere Darat, a traditional dance performance by students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Danau Kota and a special appearance by actors who starred in Takluk: Lahad Datu film, Syafiq Kyle and Riezman Khuzaimi. Activities such as lucky draws, an independence-themed best-dressed competition and quiz were also held. Bernama chief executive officer Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said around 600 staff members and their families were at the event. 'We are grateful that this programme has received support from our strategic partners and food sponsors, such as Nasi Lemak Saleha, Marrybrown, and many others," she said. As the clock approached midnight, guests witnessed a spectacular display of 120 rounds of fireworks.
