GM Klang Wholesale City (GM Klang) has presented a donation of RM8,000, which is part of the RM40,000 raised during the ‘Rioooh Raya Special Charity Sale 2023’ programme, to the Rumah Amal Kasih Bestari.
The donation was handed over by GM Klang Brand Communications senior manager Norsuhaida Othman during the ‘Iftar Jalinan Kasih Yayasan Kita Anak Malaysia’ event which was jointly organised by Yayasan Kita Anak Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) on Saturday.
The charity sale programme, a collaboration between GM Klang and the Faculty of Communications and Media Studies of the university, was held from April 7 to 9 at the ground floor lobby of GM Klang.
Norsuhaida said about 40 students and 19 wholesalers participated in the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme selling various raya products such as clothes, bags, fashion accessories, shoes, hijabs, biscuits and more.
“Indirectly, these students have been exposed by GM Klang wholesalers to business knowledge such as sales and promotion strategies as well as communication with customers,” she said in a statement today.
Norsuhaida said it was hoped that donation would help the residents of the charity house, which is one of the orphanages with the largest number of residents, namely more than 200 orphans.
“GM Klang and UiTM have been collaborating since 2018 in various programmes which benefited the students.
“The special charity sale has attracted more than 10,000 visitors during the three days and both parties intend to continue this kind of collaboration programme,” she added.
