A total of 1,755 Malaysian pilgrims have arrived here via six flights since Sunday, including Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin.
Mohd Uzir and his wife Datin Seri Suhana Tahir, were met after their morning walk around the Nabawi Mosque here after the Subuh prayers.
He said walking is the only exercise they can do here to keep fit and healthy as the haj rituals would be quite challenging and require both physical and mental health.
“With the current hot weather here in the Holy Land, mental and physical health is very important…the older you are, the more challenging it would be,” he said.
A total of 98 flights carrying 31,600 Malaysian pilgrims will be arriving either in Madinah or Makkah for this year’s haj with the last to arrive on June 21.
