Cambodia and Vietnam are committed to further strengthening and expanding their bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both peoples and countries.

The commitment was reiterated by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. To Lam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in their meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.

Both leaders spoke highly of the bilateral relationship between Cambodia Vietnam over the past 57 years of diplomatic ties, and vowed to deepen it based on the spirit of good neighbourliness and similar culture.

Samdech Thipadei and H.E. To Lam also discussed the enhancement of diplomatic and political cooperation through the increase of high-level exchanges of visits and communication; and the trade, investment and energy cooperation through the strengthening of economic and trade partnerships to boost the two-way trade to their full potential and further promote economic activities within the government and the priv
ate sector

Besides, the meeting touched on defence and security cooperation to maintain peace, stability and development along the common border, as well as to prevent cross-border crimes such as human and drug trafficking and online fraud; and on people-to-people exchange and connectivity focusing on provision of scholarships and training, tourism promotion, establishment of direct flights and infrastructure connectivity.

The two leaders considered land border demarcation as a priority and will continue their discussions towards the completion of land border demarcation.
